Impact of this management role:

The Head of Community will bring laser focus to enhance, refine, and manage Network to Code’s overall Community Strategy.  This role will lead a team of Developer Advocates, partner with internal marketing, and manage all cross-functional community efforts at NTC to ensure consistent content, messaging, and documentation to the network automation and developer community.  The right person should want to not only attend conferences to meet the greater community, but also present and be an external community leader further driving the adoption of network automation. The leader in this role should also explore NTC community events for network automation such as hackathons and meetups while exploring developer advocacy and ambassador programs for the wider community.

A day in the life:

  • Establish and execute a comprehensive Network to Code community strategy (conferences, blogs, videos, READMEs, user/ambassador forums, hackathons, meetups, surveys, etc.)
  • Create and lead NTC community events
  • Manage cross-functional team members within NTC to execute on the community strategy
  • Manage team of developer advocates ensuring their work aligns with overall community vision
  • Provide active coaching to NTC engineers as they prepare for community presentations and events
  • Represent and be a face of NTC at conferences, meetups, and other events
  • Harness feedback from the community and provide feedback to the development teams to further enhance overall NTC development processes, standards, and experience
  • Work with internal marketing to drive awareness of community events, projects, and members
  • Establish metrics to determine the success of the NTC community strategy

What you have:

  • 3+ years of leadership experience with proven results
  • Comfort level leading teams, but also creating content in the form of blogs, documentation, videos, whitepapers, and presentations
  • Experience presenting at both internal and external community events
  • Understanding of our business in network automation technologies and consulting services
  • Have the ability to interface with both senior leaders, developers, and network engineers
