Impact of this role:

A Technical Managing Consultant leads, motivates, and inspires a team of consultants and engineers to drive innovative solutions for Network to Code’s clients. A Managing Consultant at Network to Code plays a unique role in conceptualizing and delivering automation solutions, through managing and collaborating with their team and being hands on technically. We are looking for someone who has passion and commitment in partnering with our clients and personally delivers solutions at the same time. This leadership role provides the platform to shape the strategic technical direction of Network to Code client solutions.

A day in the life:

  • Manages a team of Senior Network Automation Consultants and Network Automation Engineers, mentoring their professional and technical development
  • Articulates the business value for client solutions that are being built and delivered to internal and external stakeholders
  • Leads customer calls and meetings that include both technical and leadership stakeholders from Network to Code and the customer
  • Translate manual workflows into high-level and low-level designs
  • Develops well-written technical documentation and assessments for both clients and internal needs
  • Quickly adopts new technologies and continuously demonstrates technical excellence.
  • Reviews Pull Request for other engineers on client projects, providing constructive feedback for engineers
  • Works with Network to Code Engagement Managers and Managing Directors on the entire project lifecycle from project team creation (choosing the right engineer and consultant) to project closure
  • Works with management and senior management to help shape the direction of the company

What you have:

  • Ability to break down complex concepts and present them in a clean and concise way
  • Comfortable with context switching and working on multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience in a customer facing consultant role
  • Experience with CI/CD and how it could be applied to network automation
  • Experience with concepts around data management including Source of Truth strategy, NetBox, CMDB, and management of variables within YAML files
  • Familiar with Ansible and/or Python automating networking devices
  • Familiar with Flask/Django for creating custom APIs
  • Familiar with tools and libraries such as pytest, Nornir, Netmiko, NAPALM, Batfish, Salt, Robot Framework
  • Familiar with traditional Git workflows for working in a collaborative environment
  • CCNP or equivalent networking knowledge
  • Lead or managed high performing teams

Extra Credit:

  • Has contributed to open source projects
  • Has experience doing demos and/or public speaking
