As a company, we offer a variety of professional and consulting services as well as training on Network Automation, DevOps for Networking, and how the network can be operated with an Infrastructure as Code mindset. Our services and solutions enable clients to better serve their business and the needs of their customers.

Impact of this role:

External: We are laser-focused to deliver positive business outcomes for our clients, and training and enablement are cornerstones of our services. As a leader on the Learning & Development team , you will have direct influence on the career trajectory and personal development of network operators at our clients; the training curriculums you develop and teach will guide their journey from traditional network engineers and architects to specialists of next-generation network automation.

Internal: As the Technical Leader, you will drive the vision, strategy and execution of all client training and enablement activities at Network to Code. Working in partnership with the Engagement Manager of Learning and Development, you will co-own the key objectives of this critical department including curriculum planning, content development, instructor staffing, and training delivery.

In this role, you will build upon our industry-leading network automation curriculum and evolve it to the next level, including cutting-edge innovations developed internally at Network to Code. Enablement services include robust programs built for Enterprise clients that include training, knowledge shares, labs, and general coaching session in addition to supporting one-off training courses delivered within a private or public setting.

A day in the life:

  • Work with external clients, sales prospects, students and internal leadership to identify emerging trends in network automation and industry gaps in technical training offerings. Then define, build, and teach custom training solutions to meet those evolving needs and requirements
  • As player/coach, teach onsite and remote network automation training courses during surges of demand and to better coach and audit the instructor team
  • Maintain and enhance existing network automation training courses keeping up with changes in open source tooling
  • Maximize the effectiveness of this department with daily strategic decisions to invest time and resources in a way that maximizes the reuse of content across multiple clients and course offerings, while limiting duplication and one-time use content
  • Recruit, hire, coach, and manage new instructors with the growth of the business
  • Manage direct and indirect team to assist in the creation of content and labs
  • Enable sales and marketing with the collateral needed to sell and market the courses
  • Act as a network automation technology evangelist; engage with the community and present at industry events and conferences, contribute to company blogs, publish informative videos, etc.

What you bring:

  • Network automation experience required with Ansible, Python, Napalm, and Netmiko
  • Familiarity with other automation industry tools such as NetBox, Terraform, Salt, Puppet, StackStorm, Django, Docker, Grafana, Prometheus, Telegraf, secrets management, software-defined networks, intent-based networking, CI/CD platforms, or Git workflows
  • Proven instructor experience, or equivalent skills demonstrated via conference presentations, public speaking, YouTube channel, sales engineer or leadership roles
  • Experience building a leading a team is strongly preferred but not required

  • A collaborative, team approach, working across all business units such as Sales, Marketing, Services, and Engineering
  • Must be a highly motivated, self-starter, with excellent organizational skills and the drive necessary to see a project through to completion
  • Ability to plan, design, document, and articulate vision clearly; likely with an enthusiasm for creating documentation, diagrams, and presentations to convey strategy
  • Ability to travel to teach or present 6-8 times per year
