Impact of this role:

The Sr Site Reliability Engineer plays the critical role in driving innovative solutions for our clients.  This is a client facing role that is responsible for translating client requirements into strategic automation solutions. We are looking for candidates that excel in architecting and deploying infrastructure via modern DevOps mechanisms. You should feel comfortable with working in a collaborative environment via pair programming, peer review and knowledge sharing.

This is a technical position that requires experience in cloud, software development, and DevOps.  We are looking for candidates that not only excel technically, but also have skills to build plans, set expectations, and manage projects to completion.

A day in the life:

  • Build pipelines to deploy systems and network infrastructure using traditional Infrastructure as Code (IaC) designs
  • Build solutions with configuration management tools, primarily Terraform and Ansible
  • Build solutions on various cloud providers including AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Build solutions with continuous deployment tools such as Jenkins, GitLab-CI, Bamboo, etc
  • Work with client stakeholders to understand the environment and implement infrastructure solutions
  • Work with client stakeholders to understand the environment and advise on infrastructure designs.
  • Build data models and associated documentation for client specific use cases
  • Manage the infrastructure platforms for client engagements
  • Work within an agile environment including gathering requirements, working with a product owner, and defining a backlog in Jira (or equivalent)
  • Build automated tests to ensure consistency and high availability of deployed infrastructure
  • Work collaboratively using git managing PRs and issues coming from engineers

What you have:

  • 3-5 years experience Ansible and Terraform
  • 3+ years Linux system administration
  • 3+ years operating in an IaC environment
  • 3-5 years experience with Python
  • 3-5+ years Cloud experience such as EC2, route53, ELB/ALB, VPN, Transit VPC, EKS
  • 5+ years of git experience with at 3 of them working collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience developing system integration test strategies
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms
  • Experience with HCL, YAML, and JSON
  • Familiarity with Git workflows for working in a collaborative environment
  • Hands-on experience with container infrastructure
  • Familiarity with secrets management
  • Ability to design, document, and articulate concepts before beginning implementation
  • Must be highly motivated, self-starter, and have excellent organizational skills
