Impact of this role:

As a Senior Software Architect, you will guide product development at one of our strategic transformational accounts. This role is client-facing and will drive the delivery of NTC’s cohesive network automation solutions for specific projects, while leading and collaborating with teams of developers working on a modern distributed microservice data platform.

A day in the life:

  • Technical lead for a team of 10+ developers
  • Work with Product Owners to build a robust backlog
  • Develop Python Django software products using the Django REST Framework
  • Perform full lifecycle software development
  • Review code and assess code quality
  • Working closely with UX and Front-end Developers
  • Designing and creating RESTful APIs for internal and partner consumption
  • Working in an agile environment with an excellent team of engineers

What you have:

  • 7+ years experience of Python coding skills
  • 3+ years hands on experience with the Django framework and DRF
  • 3+ years leading sizable development teams
  • Experience running containerized applications in production (Kubernetes, etc)
  • Solid database skills in a relational database (i.e. MySQL, PostgresQL, etc.)
  • Knowledge of how to build and use RESTful APIs
  • Strong knowledge of version control (i.e. git, svn, etc.)
  • Experience deploying Python applications into production
  • Comfortable doing their day to day development in a Linux environment
  • Familiar with CI/CD and how it could be applied to network automation
  • Experience managing development/engineering teams
  • Familiar with traditional Git workflows for working in a collaborative environment.

Extra Credit:

  • Contributed to open source project
  • Experience in a Financial sector
  • Experience with BitBucket, Jenkins, and Jira
  • Understands IP networking from a high-level, e.g. BGP, VLANs, L2/L3
