Impact of this technical role:

An Engineer, Site Reliability is a software developer who works with customers to solve technical and operational challenges. They are developers that develop improvements in reliability and scale of applications. They have the ability to develop automated solutions quickly and effectively to meet customer demands. In this role the engineer will get the opportunity to help deliver large-scale network automation projects that have a global reach in an enterprise environment.

A day in the life:

  • Troubleshoot escalated incidents and participate in blameless post-mortems to ensure closure
  • Dive into new technologies to improve test coverage and quality of a solution
  • Understand existing design and security requirements to produce enterprise level solutions
  • Engaging with development and vendor software teams throughout application lifecycle to improve reliability, testability, and supportability of applications
  • Works with fellow Engineers and Managing Consultants to build automation designs, including developing a tech stack, developing proper levels of abstraction, and guidance on best practices
  • Develops technical documentation of solutions built for clients
  • Quickly adopts new technologies and continuously demonstrates technical excellence
  • Involved in entire life cycle of a project, from assessment, design, development, demonstration, deployment, and documentation of solution
  • Develops django software on customer facing projects as a member of an Agile team
  • Track progress and work with a team to minimize delays

What you have:

  • 2+ years experience with CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, Circle-CI, Github CI
  • 2+ years experience with scripting languages, including Python, Bash, Make
  • 1+ years experience with configuration management, including Ansible, Puppet, IaC and Source of Truth strategy
  • 1+ years experience with runtime, container, and hosting environments, like RHEL, Docker, OpenShift
  • Familiar with tools and libraries such as pytest, Robot Framework, SonarCube, Aquascan
  • Familiar with traditional Git workflows for working in a collaborative environment
