Impact of this role:

Controller will own the accounting operations and play a significant role in the development and tracking of key performance indicators to ensure the company is achieving its financial and operational goals.  This includes the production of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, budgets, forecasts and key performance indicators.  This role will work across all business units to gain an understanding of our business model to help ensure best

A day in the life:

  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting packages
  • Continued development, monitoring, and documentation of company KPIs and internal controls
  • Assist CEO & Head of Finance in the creation of the annual budget and its tracking against actual performance
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts
  • Analyze project profitability for each contact type across all business units
  • Advance Finance Department initiatives such as software and system implementation
  • Own accuracy and management of internal reporting databases
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns
  • Perform ad hoc analysis, as needed

What you bring:

  • Strong experience with financial close processes and external audits
  • Excellent analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • A natural organizer, able to bring structure to chaos
  • A motivated self-starter, independently overcomes obstacles to realize stated objectives
  • Flexible and resilient, comfortable with ambiguity, adaptable to a high-change environment. Ability to multitask, prioritize and coordinate activities to meet multiple deadlines, and works well under pressure
  • Ability to work remote and independently

What you have:

  • 5-7 years of experience in accounting roles
  • CPA required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Experience preparing and presenting financial reports for Senior Management
  • Entrepreneurial minded and driven self-starter
  • Strong presenting, listening and comprehension skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks Online
  • Relevant experience in working for (or with) a start-up preferred, not required
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
